The Robinson Volunteer Fire Department (RVFD) was founded in 1955 by a group of 19 concerned citizens. RVFD is the contracted fire prevention agency for the city of Robinson, Texas. RVFD covers approximately 53 square miles of primary fire response jurisdiction, and we provide mutual aid assistance to neighboring communities. Over the years, RVFD has comprised dozens of members. Currently, we have over 40 volunteers and staff dedicated to serving our neighbors.

We honor the charter members' service that established our department's foundation. We also want to formally recognize Everett O'Dowd, the first President of the RVFD Fire Board. If you have additional information (names, biographies, pictures, and/or stories) on the department's history and membership, please contact the RVFD Secretary at secretary@robinsonfire.org.

The Robinson Volunteer Fire Department recognizes Lifetime Members as those who have gone above and beyond to serve the department, most of whom have served for multiple decades. These individuals are a vital part of the department's history. Please read their stories and celebrate them with us.
Brown joined the RVFD in 1989 and is still an active member as the Board of Fire Commissioners Vice President and Deputy Chief, Fire.
Chief Groppe, who had been with the Waco Fire Department since 1987 and had a family history of service, retired after 33 1/2 years of dedicated service.
